Liu Xinwu is a Chinese author born in 1942. Since the early 1990s Liu has been engaged in Redology – the study of the famous 18th-century Chinese novel The Dream of Red Mansions. The novel was left unfinished and more than 100 alternative endings have been offered over the years.
Liu Xinwu's effort will be published in April, 2011. But netizens are already describing his sequel to the masterpiece as 'deplorable' and his efforts to write verse as 'doggerel'.
