Mr Chen Guangbiao, a Chinese billionaire, has been dubbed China's Top Philanthropist. He has also been given the titles of National Earthquake Relief Hero, National Moral Model and so on.
He claims to have been inspired by the two US billionaires, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, and says all his money will go to charity after he dies. So it was ironic when people found out that Chen won't even help his own family out.
His sister earns 1,800 yuan ($270) a month washing dishes in a hotel, and his brother earns only slightly more working as a security guard.
Chen often pops up in disaster areas handing out red envelopes stuffed with cash. But many people see him as a cheap self-publicist. His charity work has been described as "donating money with menaces" because of the way he tramples on the dignity of his beneficiaries.
