Of the 31 provincial regions, the top 10 that draw in the greatest number of the top 500 companies over the past decade are as follows: Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Tianjin, Liaoning, Hebei and Henan. Beijing has been taking the top dog spot all the time with its advantage of being the capital of China, while Tianjn, as a municipality with the rapid growth of its new district of Binhai, is the seventh most welcomed by the top 500 companies to base their headquarters there.

Statistics show that central and western parts of China, as well as Eastern China, are turning out more top companies. In addition, with the further implementation of the western region development program first initiated in 2000, Western China has already been a land attracting more and more top 500 companies.
