Top 10 Chinese cities by GDP in the first three quarters of 2020

No. 1: Shanghai


As expected, Shanghai tops the list. The city’s GDP in the first three quarters of 2020 amounted to 2.73 trillion yuan, decreasing by 0.3% over the same period last year. The decline narrowed by 2.3 percentage points from the first half of this year.


The added value of the city’s information transmission, software and IT service industries increased by 15.1% over the same period last year, and that of its finance sector increased by 7.9%.
