Top 10 Chinese cities by GDP in the first three quarters of 2020

No. 4: Chongqing


Chongqing has surpassed Guangzhou and ranked fourth on the list. Its GDP in the first three quarters of 2020 totaled 1.77 trillion yuan, up 2.6% year on year. The added value of its primary and secondary industries reached 121.69 billion yuan and 700.86 billion yuan, respectively, both increasing by 3.9% over the same period last year. The development of 5G networks has also provided great economic opportunities for the city. By the end of September, 33,700 5G base stations in Chongqing had started operation, and the added value of its tertiary industry hit 948.16 billion yuan, up 1.2% year on year.
