Muslims around the world have taken to the streets after Friday prayers to show their solidarity for the people of Gaza. Similar protests have also been held daily across the Mideast since Israel launched the bombing campaign last Saturday.

In Tehran, a crowd of about six thousand people, including high-ranking officials, staged a rally on Friday afternoon. Iran's foreign minister warned Israel that entering Gaza by land will be a major mistake.

Manouchehr Mottaki, Iranian Foreign Minister, said, "The biggest mistake of the Zionist regime would be entering Gaza on the ground. They have to know that nothing will be left of them if they attack Gaza from the ground."

In Jordan, police had to use tear gas to stop protestors approaching the Israeli embassy. Meanwhile, tens of thousands demonstrators turned up at Amman Stadium, shouting their support for Gaza and calling for the abolition of the Jordanian-Israeli peace treaty signed in 1994.
