Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda paid an official visit to China from Dec. 25 to 26, 2011 at the invitation of Premier Wen Jiabao. Wen stressed China and Japan should be good neighbors and partners rather than opponents. He said peaceful coexistence, long-term friendship from generation to generation, mutually beneficial cooperation and common development between China and Japan were in line with the fundamental interests of both sides and their peoples, and were also beneficial to the peace, stability and prosperity of Asia and the whole world. Noda also highlighted the political mutual trust as the major foundation for the development of bilateral ties, saying China's development created economic opportunities for Japan and other countries.
