Chinese writer Liu Cixin caused a stir across China's Internet and the sci-fi community since his novel "The Three-body Problem" won the 2015 Hugo Award for Best Novel on August 23.

He is the first Asian writer to win the award, deemed the highest honor for science fiction works along with the Nebula Awards.

"The Three-body Problem" is a trilogy of the "Three Body," "The Dark Forest" and "Death's End."

Published in China between 2006 and 2010, it has been hailed as the best Chinese sci-fi series with over a million copies sold in China. However, its first book was not translated into English until 2014.

"The Dark Forest" became available in the United States earlier last month, and translation of the last one, "Death's End," is expected to hit the shelves next year.
