President Hu Calls for Efforts in 'Strike-hard' Campaign
Chinese President Hu Jintao Friday urged redoubled efforts to properly handle political and legal work in line with the important thought of the Three Represents so as to create a favorable environment for the drive of building a well-off society.

Hu made the remarks at a televised conference on citing outstanding political-legal functionaries nationwide in Beijing.

During the past two years, Party committees and government departments at all levels have carried out a variety of tasks as part of the "Strike-hard" campaign, which has greatly improved the overall public security situation, said Hu, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

The decisions made by the CPC Central Committee has proved correct and won the people's support, he said.

Hu also congratulated the outstanding individuals and groups awarded during the conference and encouraged the political-legal functionaries to make further contributions to the stability of the society.

Luo Gan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, also told the conference that all Party committees and government departments should strengthen leadership and conduct the campaign in accordance with the important thought of Three Represents.
