Changsha: More Ancient Bamboo Slips Discovered
More than ten thousands pieces of bamboo slips (used for writing on in ancient times) were unearthed recently in Zoumalou Street, Changsha City, Hunan Province. These bamboo documents were mainly used to record administration and judicatory conditions in Han Dynasty 2100 years ago, especially in the reign of Emperor Wudi.
Reservoir Dam Breaching Put 10,000 Residents in Danger
A breach happened to the dam of Bayi Reservoir in Wujiaqu City, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on January 22. Several companies of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps were dispatched immediately to do the rescue work. By now over 8,000 local residents who were affected have been evacuated.

At Least 23 Dead in Baghdad Bombing

France-based aircraft manufacturer, Airbus will deliver more than 30 civilian aircraft to China in 2004, Airbus China president Laurence Barron announced in Beijing Friday. Airbus has been steadily expanding its China business since entering the country in 1985.
