Agricultural produce supply stressed
Adjust font size:

Vice-Premier Hui Liangyu on Sunday urged agricultural producers' cooperatives across the country to guarantee a sufficient supply of agricultural products while providing adequate materials needed in farming.

Those organizations should step up reform in rural logistics and help stabilize the prices of agricultural products, Hui told a meeting of  All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives.

Agricultural producers' cooperatives are collectively owned organizations in rural areas where farmers get their seed, fertilizer, pesticides, machinery, tools and other production materials, and have their products sold.

At the meeting, 228 groups and 199 model workers were honored for their outstanding work in those cooperatives.

Vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Gu Xiulian, and vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Bai Lichen and Li Meng attended the meeting.
