Polish president hails ties with China
Adjust font size:

Polish President Lech Kaczynski met with visiting Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan in Warsaw on Tuesday, voicing his faith in further development of trade cooperation between the two countries.

Kaczynski said Poland attaches great importance to relations with China and hopes bilateral ties could continue to grow.

Poland is willing to strengthen economic and trade cooperation with China, importing more Chinese products and meanwhile exporting more of its products to China, Kaczynski said, adding that he believes the bilateral trade cooperation could see further development.

The president also wished China every success with the 2008 Olympic Games.

For his part, Zeng said the friendly relations and traditional friendship between the two countries have been developed and consolidated since the establishment of diplomatic ties more than 50 years ago.

Cooperation between the two countries has been fruitful in areas of economy and trade, culture and education, science and technology, Zeng said.

China is ready to enhance cooperation with Poland on the principals of "mutual respect" and "mutual benefit," Zeng said.

Zeng arrived here late Monday on an official visit. He met his Polish counterpart Waldemar Pawlak before meeting the president.

The Chinese vice premier will also visit Romania and Luxembourg and attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum after concluding his visit to Poland.
