Star Hotels in Shanghai Enjoy Booming Business
The occupancy rate for the star hotels in Shanghai during the first two and a half months this year averaged at 67.16 percent, up three percentage points over the same period of last year.

The average daily price for all star hotels stands at 453 yuan (US$54.6).

During this period, the average occupancy rates for the 20 five-star hotels and 27 four-star hotels exceeded 73 percent and neared 70 percent, respectively.

In addition, the average occupancy rate for the 112 three-star hotels in Shanghai reached 65.22 percent.

The average price for the five-star hotels in Shanghai is 890 yuan, and 317 yuan for the three-star hotels.

The number of star hotels in Shanghai has increased from 138 three years ago to more than 300, which together have more than 52,000 standard rooms.
