Jilin-Russia Railway Link Resumed

A train left Huichun City, in northeast China's Jilin Province Friday morning, heading for the city of Mahalino in Russia, marking the resumption of railway service on the line that was halted in April last year.

Normal passenger and cargo transport via the railway will continue, as a result of consultations starting last August between relevant Chinese and Russian departments, according to local sources.

Jilin has 241.25 km of border with Russia. The railway is an important trade and tourism link between the two sides.
