As the world's first Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine, the institute offers bachelor and master degree courses on traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese learning courses in more than 30 primary and secondary schools. It also has hosted the Traditional Chinese Health Care Week for three consecutive years, making it a very popular activity in England. Due to special teaching content, it has won the Confucius Institute of the Year Award for three consecutive years since 2009.

It is the first Confucius Institute in Africa. It offers a certificate course in Chinese Language and Culture. In 2011, it has enrolled 560 students, of which 129 are undergraduate degree students majoring in Chinese. It has hosted over 50 activities, attracting 13,000 to participate. In 2012, it will open teaching centers for Master and Doctoral programs in Chinese language in order to train local teachers of Nairobi.
