10 global events shaken by COVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic rages around the world, many global events have been canceled, postponed, or rescheduled, involving a wide range of areas, such as sports, entertainment, and technology. China.org.cn lists some major events impacted by the health crisis.

# Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee announced on March 24 that the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games have been postponed by one year because of the global coronavirus pandemic.

The Tokyo Olympic Games, originally scheduled from July 24 to Aug. 9, 2020, has been moved to July 23 to Aug. 8, 2021. The Paralympic Games will be held from Aug. 24 to Sept. 5, 2021. The Olympic flame will stay in Japan, and the Games will keep the name Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020.
