The 2020 Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) was canceled after the Swiss government banned large events of more than 1,000 people as a measure to help combat the spread of coronavirus on Feb. 28.

The 90th edition of the GIMS was due to take place from March 2 to 15 in the Swiss city of Geneva. One of the world's largest automotive events, the show offers a platform for automakers to announce their flashiest, most future-facing vehicles and concepts.

The event has attracted as many as 700,000 members of the public in years past.
