About 100,000 civilians and soldiers filled Pyongyang's central Kim Il Sung Square, with a group of senior DPRK officials presiding over the rally.

Secretary of the Central Committee of DPRK's ruling Workers' Party, Kim Ki Nam, read out a speech which accused the UN of imposing new sanctions against the DPRK at what they called the "instigation of the United States".
