8, Taiwan's pimp model

The Taiwan B-list model, 27-year-old Timi Hsiao, a frequent guest-star in superstar Jay Chou's music videos, was caught red-handed buying drugs by the police on March 20. She later admitted to officers that she smokes marijuana and takes ketamine.

Hsiao also made a voluntary confession to the police that she turned to prostitution with the help of former Miss Chinese Taipei finalist, 36-year-old Lin Wei-wei.

Police said their investigations revealed that Lin had pimped the B- and C-list actresses, singers and models to customers, not only in Taiwan but also on the Chinese mainland and in Singapore. Lin arranged for Hsiao to meet a client in Shanghai and Hsiao later admitted to have "met" some 10 men arranged by Lin since July last year, charging them NT$ 60,000 each. Hsiao added that both she and Lin shared the money equally.

Lin initially denied involvement in the affair and insisted that she didn't even know Tsiao. However, when the police found what appeared to be a list of clients, including the names of doctors, lawyers, businessmen and politicians, she confessed to arranging "meetings" for the clients but denied being a pimp. However, she added that she could not stop the girls if they wished to have dinner or sex with the clients. Both Lin and Tsiao were released on bail pending a police investigation.
