Disco inferno kills 12 in Jiangxi

A fire broke out at a Disco in east China's Jiangxi Province, claiming 12 lives and injuring six others yesterday, a news Website reported.

The blaze broke out at 10:20pm at a Disco in Linchuan District of Fuzhou City, according to the jxnews.com.

Four people died on the spot and eight perished when receiving treatment. The six who were slightly injured were hospitalized and are now in stable condition.

Firemen and police rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze, and government leaders, including governor of the province, also reached the scene to direct the rescue.

An investigation into the cause is underway.
