Jian Nan Chun, produced in Mianzhu County, Sichuan province, has a history dating back more than 1,000 years ago. Its predecessor, Jiannan shaochun wine that was produced during the Tang Dynasty, was called one of thirteen famous wines under heaven in its time.

The present distillery was established in 1951 and has been improving its product ever since. The spirit was named a national famous liquor in 1979.
