Grain Output Increases
China's grain output rose by 1 percent from 2001 to hit 457.1 million tons last year, said the National Bureau of Statistics. This was the first time since 1999 that the country saw production pick up on a year-on-year basis.

Oldest Irrigation System Equipped with Computer
A computerized device used to monitor water levels was successfully installed in the Dujiangyan inlet, southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Thursday, which enhances the world's oldest irrigation system.
