Saudi Arabia signed a contract in May to order 22 BAE Systems Hawk advanced jet trainers and 55 Pilatus PC-21 turboprops. The deal was GBP1.6 billion (US$2.5 billion), including associated equipment such as a simulator system and staff training. It is expected the delivery of PC-21 basic trainers will start in 2014. The delivery of new Hawks is expected to start from 2016, according to BAE.
