Six Parties Raise Proposals to Solve Nuke Issue
The parties to the third round of six-party talks all raised proposals when the negotiations entered the second day to solve the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue. The delegations held that substantial consultations should be taken as a starting point to press ahead toward the solution to the issue.
Shanghai Workers to Get Injury Compensation
Shanghai will soon implement its first workers compensation regulation. The new rules, revealed to the public on Wednesday, will help create a more reliable work environment and better protect workers' interests. Analysts believe that the city's 3 million migrant workers will be among the biggest beneficiaries of the new program.
World Heritage Committee to Make Selections
The garden city of Suzhou will host the 10-day session of the World Heritage Committee, which begins June 28. As well as the selection of additions to the World Heritage List, a central topic of discussion will be the hotly debated Cairns Decision, which limits the number of nominations to be submitted by each member state to one per year.
It's Time to Progress on Substantial Issues
The first day of the third round of six-party talks on Korean nuclear issue saw detailed proposals put forward respectively by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the United States and the Republic of Korea (ROK). Parties said the time has come that the talks make progress on substantial questions. The talks, involving China, the DPRK, the United States, the ROK, Russia and Japan, opened in Beijing Wednesday afternoon.
